one resource for all learners

one4all Learning Company specializes in literacy instruction for kindergarten and first grade students with an emphasis on explicit phonics instruction. Our goal is to provide teachers with one resource that encompasses all areas of literacy while reaching all learners.

About Us

Why did we create it?

Teachers are stretched too thin. We always hear the complaint that there isn’t enough time in the day to do “all the things.” When The Science of Reading became a priority, we felt the weight of teachers feeling like it was “one more thing.” We thought, “there must be something out there that puts it all together so that teachers don’t need to be pulling from all directions.” We looked, and we couldn’t find a curriculum resource that was up to our standards in explicit instruction, quality resources, student engagement, and teacher ease of use. Therefore, we decided to write our own curriculum.

How is this curriculum different from others?

It is written by two teachers who are currently in the classroom. We understand the needs of our students and what teachers require to feel well-prepared and less overwhelmed. This curriculum resource includes phonics, vocabulary, letter formation, writing practice, comprehension, and phonemic awareness. It is a scripted curriculum designed to streamline the planning process for teachers.

What you can Expect to Find in this Curriculum:

  • Student Engagement: The lessons are designed to actively involve students through teaching slides, work pages, engaging decodables with colorful pictures, and read-alouds, enhancing their participation and interaction with the material.
  • Technology Integration: Each week's lesson incorporates technology, offering interactive slides for student use on their devices, fostering a dynamic and modern learning experience.
  • Letter Formation and Fine Motor Skills: The curriculum includes activities that target letter formation and fine motor skills, correlating with the weekly phonics skills covered.
  • Scripted and Easy-to-Follow Lessons: The lessons are scripted, providing clear guidance for teachers and facilitating ease of use. They are structured in a way that allows for seamless implementation, even by substitute teachers with minimal additional preparation.
  • Small Group Instruction: Resources are provided for small group instruction, including explicit phonics instruction tailored to the needs of different student groups, allowing for targeted support and intervention.
  • Independent Rotation Plans: Plans and resources are included for independent activities during small group rotations, addressing the challenge of providing meaningful tasks for students not directly engaged with the teacher. This ensures that all students have purposeful learning activities to complete independently.

Digital slides are included with each week’s lesson. Teaching slides are designed to be used as a whole group but also for students to have open on their own devices. If possible, students can complete activities digitally right on their tablets. For each section of the whole group lesson plan, you will find correlating slide numbers, indicating exactly when to display each slide throughout your lesson. Digital slides reference sheets are provided for each week.

A note from THE auTHORS

Hi! Let us introduce ourselves. We're Kelly Bauer and Allison Olson, both first-grade teachers in Jamestown, North Dakota. With Master’s Degrees in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Jamestown, we've always harbored a dream of crafting an ELA curriculum that delivers results for all learners. Beyond our roles as first-grade educators, we're also moms. This resource is born out of our desire to create materials that we would enthusiastically endorse for our own children's classrooms. We take pride in the outcomes our one4all resources have yielded in classrooms, and we're excited to assist you in fostering confident readers in your kindergarten and first-grade classrooms.
